Fighting the Good Fight. Just Trust & Believe.

Fighting the good fight is about belief.  Throughout our lives the enemy will attempt to grind down our faith.  Once he has done this he will attempt to frighten you.  He will use whatever you fear.  If he frightens you enough you will believe that you are dellusional and that you do not have the Holy Spirit and that you are simply talking to yourself.  He is a stubborn relentless adversary nonetheless he is totally and utterly defeated.  As Father puts it to me, he is a Vanquished foe.  We must not deny the truth of the Holy Spirit and its presence within us that enables us to know the thoughts of God and recieve his council.  Every day we must read the Word to enable it to renew our minds.  We must make a decision.  Do I believe Gods Word or not? If the answer you find is "i do", then allow His Spirit to protect, guide, reinforce and calm you.  THE ENEMY CANNOT FRIGHTEN YOU IF YOU BELIEVE.  JUST TRUST AND BELIEVE and watch as peace manifests itself back into your life.  This is a key that a born again Christian must use to survive.

Always remember 1 Timothy 7 and meditate upon it if the enemy tries to frighten you.

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

God bless you and keep you in perfect peace and remember faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God.

Why it's important that you love yourself.

Today I swore at a motorist because he selfishly did not give me "right of way".  Since the moment I did it I've felt guilty and let down by my own behaviour and shortness of temper, I actually stuck a finger up at him.  I realised later that this wasn't normal behaviour for me, something isn't right in my life, something is out of balance.  I realised that something was wrong.

I have been feeling unworthy to develop my relationship with Father God and have been drifting further and further from the person that I know I can be and have been.  Someone who is kind, humble and caring. Recently I have felt like my faith is at rock bottom.  I find myself worrying about the state of the world and my place in it.  Am i contributing enough?  Am I being a good Christian?  And does God really love with so much murder on the news.  I've found myself being short tempered, hostile and unrighteous.

After some deliberation I decided to seek Father Gods help on these subjects and closed my eyes and prayed.  What I was told startled and humbled me in equal measure.

I was told that "I need to learn to love myself".  I recall thinking "that can't be right".  I was told that I needed to love myself, because If I didn't I would't be able to help the people that depended on me.  My Fiancee' my Mum and Dad, my brothers and sisters, people I didn't even know and of course last but not least, myself.  I was told that Father God needs us to love ourselves so that we respect ourselves, when we do we steer clear from doing and saying things that are sinful, things that will inevitably make us feel guilty and think less of ourselves.  Father God cannot force us to do anything that we do not want to do, so we have to make the decision ourselves, take responsibility for ourselves.

The key problem with doing and saying these things is that it makes you feel worthless and makes you feel especially unworthy in terms of your relationship with Father God.  This then stops you approaching Him in prayer and asking for his support, guidance and forgiveness which in turn makes it much harder for your to receive his blessings, whatever they could have been.  His blessings in my experience may not be what we perceive as blessings but they are always so much deeper and so much better for us.

I am re-learning that the most important opinion is Father God's, often what the "religious" world thinks is right and wrong for a Christian believer is not the same as what He thinks is right and wrong.  If you don't learn to love yourself this short-circuiting of Father Gods blessing in your life continues and gets harder to break until it gets to the point where you potentially no longer Believe and have lost your faith.  We need to remember Father Gods forgiveness is limitless.

Once again, none of this would have been illuminated to me if I hadn't prayed and asked Father God to explain it to me.  This is why taking time to pray, which literally means to "talk to God" is so key in the life of a believer.  If we make time to pray, even if it's just for a minute a day, we will learn what is right and wrong and in turn do any say things which cause us to respect and love ourselves.  Once we do, we will learn to love everyone else the way they need to be loved, most of all Father God, Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, whom deserve our praise, respect and love.

Thanks for reading this post.

God bless you.

What is The Holy Spirit really like.

Proverbs 8 is a truly astonishing part of the Bible.  Here the Holy Spirit talks about itself.  It really is fascinating, It recounts how It was present when God created everything, however many  millions, billions or trillions of years that may have been.

When you truly absorb the enormity of what you are reading it fills you with awe.  It is written in first person.  This is not a man describing what The Holy Spirit is like.  It is actually the Holy Spirit itself explaining what It is.  It even describes how it speaks to believers to guide them.  Exactly the same as Jesus describes It in the New Testament before Lord Jesus was even born as a man.

This is exactly how I experience God direction through the Wisdom offered to my by The Holy Spirit.  Proof upon proof, written in the Word of God that we are given direction if we choose to hear it as our birthright as born again believers in The Christ,  our  perfect God.

Proverbs 8.  In two words, Absolutely Amazing.  Don't take my word for it.  Read Genesis, then read Proverbs 8 which was written I believe thousands of years later through the inspiration of the very same Holy Spirit.

When you start to realise the enormity of what this means you will be totally awestruck.

Resisting Temptation and Prayer

If the enemy can convince you that there is no God he can influence you with temptation.  Around the clock 24 hours per day 365 days per year media is promoting the viewpoint that there is no God and the Bible is just a book full of fictional stories.  Once you buy into this lie the cycle begins rebellion, temptation, sin, rebellion temptation sin and in it goes.  People step by ignorant step walk confidently away from their birthright, which is eternal oneness with God towards hell.

The reason prayer is so important is that it enables you to hear the voice of God.  As I have stated I previous posts it's not the comedic booming voice in Tom and Jerry cartoons it's is your consciousness exactly like you are taking to yourself except it's is Father God communicating to you.

You pray by giving thanks to God for everything you hold dear, believe, and then begin the conversation with Him and will answer.  To access this Gift you must be baptised and believe that Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God.  When you pray the Lord calms you and directs you.

The more time you spend in prayer (which literally means in conversation with God) the more guidance you receive.  This is possible because you possess the Holy Spirit if you are born again.

Now here is the key thing.  If you stop praying for even 1 day, the power of media all around you is so strong it will quickly pull you back into doubt.  Doubt that God exists and doubt that this new connection with God that you possess is even real.  This is why it is important to pray every day.

What I have explained is not theory it is written in the word of God.  Here is what is written:-

Romans 10:17King James Version (KJV)

17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

1 Corinthians 2:10-14New King James Version (NKJV)

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.

13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy[a]Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The Truth

Forgiveness enables us to completely tackle any personal onslaught.  Our human response is normally retaliation.  This is exactly what the enemy wants, and if we give in to this he will press hard on this nerve ending.  Retaliation is responding without understanding what is really happening using human intellect.  The fundamental truth is that wether we believe it or not we are all vessels.  Those of us who are born again believers are human containers for The Holy Spirit.  Those who don't believe are empty vessels that are open for occupation and influence.  This is a spiritual fact.

Now consider this, the enemy detests believers.  This is exactly why the majority of unbelievers hate Christians.  It's all about what is influencing them or more precisely who they are letting influence them.  Now if we retaliate with hate, we are forgetting these truths and using our human intellect rather than tapping into Father Gods spiritual wisdom.  We are also welcoming fear which is the influence of the enemy.  Spiritual wisdom is infinitely superior to human intellect.  There is no comparison. It's like night and day.  Next time someone upsets you, immediately forgive them and pray for them in your spirit, because if they are not saved they are lost but you, you are saved.

The Truth is within us.

Father God is within us.  When we are in times of trouble his voice is clearer to us because we are in vital need of his reassurance.  The Lords way is the right way and is infinitely superior to mans way and mans knowledge.  One is the root of wisdom one is the by product of the Lords greatness.  The sun is his and is the constant witness the shows the Lords almight power day after day rising for everyone to see in witness to Him.  The Lord calms my spirit and inner man then my worldly wisdom stirs confusion where the Lord places peace.  It's not for us to know everything about how the Lord operates but our role in the great game of life is simply to believe.  Believe and exist in happiness through Him and in Him.  The endless trials of human existence are all around us if we acknowledge our existence to evolution but if we acknowledge our existence through the Devine Will and Power of God all of the insurmountable walls and fortresses dissolve into trifles.  Glory to the living God who gives us hope and peace in every situation and circumstance despite our human condition.  I will trust the Lord and his kindness in every counsel he gives me and banish intellectual reasoning in favour of determined and steely faith.  Glory to my perfect God, Lord Jesus forever and ever who is alive and reigning over all and everything without question.  Amen

The Fathers Parental Love.

This Christmas I am going to be more parental.  I know nothing about being a natural parent.  I believe for me being a parent was something that slipped past me in my twenties and thirties distracted by my career and then life's problems.  Now I am content and happy regardless.  I am learning that one can be a parent to anyone or anything without having created them.  Being parental is a character decision.  It's being constantly forgiving and understanding irrespective of how one is treated.  It's being able to see past insult because of the love you feel for someone.  It's about being kind and selfless all of the time.  It is ultimately about understanding the importance of love and being loved.

God is parental.  His love for us is totally parental.  He is uniquely and immeasurably kind and loving.  Father God is empathetic, long suffering, patient and true.  His love for us His children is without horizon or limits.  He cares for us so much because we are His. He cannot, not care, He created us.  He wants to help us with every thing that troubles us.  How much do you enjoy watching somebody you love struggling with pain and turmoil.  It is unthinkable to enjoy watching someone you love suffer.  Your God and Father in heaven is exactly the same.   Every single blessing you have ever had originates from Him, Every Single One.

Now here is the secret.  To experience His love you must believe he exists.  This is the key that is faith.  Faith unlocks the door to a relationship with Him.  I am not talking about a theoretical relationship.  I mean a real two way relationship spirit to Spirit.  Behind the flesh, sinew, muscle and bone you are a Spirit.  This is the single most important truth you will ever hear but it is a choice.  Do you believe or disbelieve.  Just like any loving parent he has given us the choice to decide for ourselves.  Now here is the biggest lie people are told.  That 'sin' stops a possibility of a relationship with Him.  This is not the case.  Lord Jesus came for sinners and erased sin but only for those who believe in Him. He didn't selectively erase sin, he erased ALL sin past, present and future.  Millions of believers know this to be true, it's an every day reality for them as they speak to and hear Father Gods direction through their waking day.  This can be Spirit to Spirit, through Loved ones or through events.  The Lord communicates to us in many ways.

If you want to experience Love that has no equal, try for yourself.  Pray and believe and let Father God be Father, Papa or Dad because that's all He wants to be.  But first you need to believe.

Today I felt the urge to give a homeless man my change.  It was nothing in the big scheme of things.  He looked tired and broken.  I gave him my change and he said to me "Have a happy New Year".  That moment blessed me.  With all his problem he said this to me.  God moved me to help him and moved him to bless me.  Spirit to Spirit.  I showed him love and he did the same.

God bless you and keep you in perfect heart peace.

Freedom and Responsibility

This week has been an incredibly sad week for much of humanity.  The news reports describing the terrible and unprecedented atrocity of the murder of innocent young school children in Pakistan has been almost unbearable to hear and watch for most kind, everyday people, including me.  How could people do such a thing?  I feel at once shocked, angry and sad.  As our heart reaches out to their parents and loved ones it's important that we share a moment in our lives to pray for those who lives were cut short by pure evil.

Often in situations like these it's easy to wonder if there even is a God? If there was how could He allow such a thing to happen? This is a question frequently asked by many of us!

God has given mankind a gift that requires enormous responsibility.  That gift is absolute freedom to do as man will's.  This is because God loves us.  He loves us with a Fathers love.  A creators love.  A parents unquestioning, unconditional love.  It's man that chooses power over kindness! Money over freedom! and war over peace and in this awful case, murder over creation.  Could God intervene.  Yes.  Would it be right for Him to force us to be slaves to His will, of course it wouldn't which is why He doesn't.

It is important for us to pray for those poor, poor innocent young souls that lost their lives this week in this act of pure unadulterated barbarism and their broken families, but please, don't blame God.  We need to look much nearer to home.  we need to look at mankind and the chain of decisions man has made to turn the world into the truly savage place it has become.

Don't blame God, I'm certain it breaks His heart to see what His World and children have become.  Just as it would break any Fathers heart.

God bless you during these troubling times.

My unexpected walk.

This morning I decided that Prince and I would go for an early (ish) walk down into the village.  The walk is lovely, nothing but trees, the occasional sheep, horses and sometimes-other dog walkers.  I prayed this morning and thanked God for the Birth of my Step-Grandson who was born last night at 8pm.  I could feel that our lives - collectively had changed for the better and this inner feeling of excitement I had was going to be life changing.  It prompted me to spend time talking to Father God this morning in prayer thanking Him for him, as well as the wonderful family I have here, 150 miles away from my natural family in Kent.  It wasn't a long conversation, but afterwards I felt prompted to take Prince my Lab,out for a long morning Walk.

Prince and I walked down the narrow woody road, into the village and then I saw a woman standing there with a small white dog in the village churchyard.  This prompted a decision to divert our walk into the yard so that I could let Prince off his lead which he loves giving him a chance to say hello to another dog.  He meandered his way towards the tiny little dog and the woman and I said our good mornings.  One of the best benefits of having a dog is these situations that they put you in where you have to come out of your comfort zone and often speak to complete strangers.  The woman in question said that she loved Prince's coat, which I said was the by-product of excess meat as all we really feed him is meat, which keeps his carbs down, and his coat nice and shiny.  Her tiny white West Highland Terrier looked sad.  It didn’t move and later I realised looked bloated.  I said that I liked her dog too and that my brother has a miniature Schnauzer, which has the same chocolate button eyes.  It was then that she told me that she was having her dog put to sleep later that morning and that she had been out since 6am and was spending her last ever morning with her as she had terminal cancer which is why the poor animal was so bloated and looks so lost.  It was then I realised that the woman looked like she wanted to burst into tears.  I searched inwardly and prayed in my mind asking whether I should comfort her and ask her if she wanted me to pray for her to help her.  I was told categorically by Father God to pray for her.  I asked her shyly if I could pray for her and told her that I was a part time Christian Minister (my ministry being my Christian blog), "yes please, that would really help", she replied.

I put one arm around her and held her hand with the other and prayed for her, asking Father God to give he comfort in her dark hour of need, which was approaching amongst other pleas.  The moment I opened my eyes I looked at her and her eyes where streaming with tears.  Father told me that she had wanted to let out her grief and the prayer had given her the chance to release it.

She calmly wiped her eyes and thanked me, heartfully.

I learnt three things this morning.

1) God really uses us to help others if we allow Him to direct us.

2) If you help you fellow man/woman, you are ministering to them.  We are all Christian minsters, that is actually our purpose whether we chose to believe it or not.  We need to allow God to demonstrate His love through us because there are allot of hurting people out there.

3) You never know what people are going through.

God bless you all and keep you in perfect peace.

Why won't the light come on?

Occasionally do you wonder what the point is?  I mean, is life really just an endless cycle of waking, working, eating and shopping.  It's a question each of us, if we are honest, have asked ourselves.  I know it's a question which has bothered me since probably my early thirties.  The trouble is us human beings are swimming against the natural tide.  I believe we are created to be dependent not independent.  It's this constant struggle to be independent that causes us to make so many mistakes and struggle so terribly, externally, and more importantly internally.  Why are we so determined to be spiritual orpans when we were spiritually speaking born into a spiritual house literally drenched in power, love and wealth, created by God.

Society institutionalises us, it believe what we can see, hear, touch and feel is the reality of our existence.  The Spiritual world doesn't operate like this.  It's like trying to turn on a light when the fuse has been taken out of the plug.  The light no matter how hard we try flicking the switch will not turn on because a key component in the chain is missing.  The same thing applies spiritually.  The fuse is called Faith and without it nothing that you do will turn on that light.  This is why so many people that disbelieve the existence of Christ fail to experience the miracle, answer to prayer or Devine intervention they need when life gets tough it see in order to belief.

Faith and disbelief are like oil and water.  Often this is because they have consumed every nugget of wisdom society has offered in exchange for faith and this has strangled the 6th sense we are all born with with enables us to be directed by the spirit of God, often referred to as "intuition".  This naturally leads to the question, what is faith? To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.  This means to experience a supernatural miracle we have to believe that God is real.  Once you believe, He will literally make Himself known to you.  Not in a whimsical, ambiguous way, but in a a real, supernatural way.  You see you will only be able to handle it, once you really believe.

Ask yourself, why would God want to help you, if you don't even believe He is real.  So this now leads to a new question, how do you find out if God is real? I'll tell you in my next blog post.

In reality we are hard coded to pray to God for help, unfortunately this instinct normally kicks in when we are facing a desperate situation, when every other door has closed to us and we are literally panicking.  In this state we revert to pure instinct so we beg our creator for help.

God bless you and keep you and your families during these troubled times,  times in which if we are determined to be independent we will struggle.
