The Power of Emotions

Our emotions have the ability to entrap us.

It's not enough to simply except how we feel, as the truth. When you have the Spirit of Truth you have a filter through which we must pass any negative feelings especially when we feel turmoil of any description no matter now big, bizarre, scary, odd, weird or trivial you might think it may be. And when you are born again, you have the Spirit of Truth Forever.

John 14:15-17
Amplified Bible (AMP)

15 If you [really] love Me, you will keep (obey) My commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter (Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, and Standby), that He may remain with you forever— 17 The Spirit of Truth, Whom the world cannot receive (welcome, take to its heart), because it does not see Him or know and recognise Him. But you know and recognise Him, for He lives with you [constantly] and will be in you.

The secular world will have us believe that what we feel is always the truth. That our feelings define the truth of the moment we are experiencing and that we are at the mercy of those emotions and that we are never to disagree with them, trusting them implicitly. This is especially true of Fear.

Fear is the root of all anxieties and is not caused by God. God is the truest form of Love. He has absolutely no desire to harm you. His only desire is to Love us with the purest Fatherly love. We are his creation, which is why he wants always to protect us. Fear is caused by spiritual forces. This is an absolute truth. The bible describes this clearly in plain language, but to move on we have to trust that what it says is the deepest truth, despite what we may believe we know.

Ephesians 6:12
Amplified Bible (AMP)

12 For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.

Many of us live our lives without really understanding the importance of this life changing truth. Instead we tip toe through life hoping we are not going to fear, the things we fear leading lives that are a pale imitation of what thy should be. Let's explore the dictionary definition of fear:-

Fear:- An unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain, or harm.

God does not threaten us, he loves us. It is the despotisms, the powers, the master spirits who are the world rulers of this present darkness and the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere, that threaten us as well as people under their influence. The key word here is threat.

The origin of the word threat in Old English is thrēat 'oppression', of Germanic origin; related to Dutch verdrieten 'grieve', German verdriessen 'irritate'. In essence these forces want to oppress us and will if we let them. This is why Jesus Himself told us to stop permitting ourselves to be afraid. We have to take hold of these threats and in taking them to Father God, take control of them. This is clearly stated in the Word of God in John 14:27

When we take these threats to Father God, and have faith (trust and belief) in what He tells us the fear has no choice but to bow at the feet of Jesus, relent and pass, whether the origin of the threat is spiritual or human derived from an evil spirit. This is the truth. These evil spirits know that this truth can totally disarm their attempts to ruin the peace that is our rightful inheritance, which is why this truth is kept from us, unless it is revealed to us.

John 14:27
Amplified Bible (AMP)
27 Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]

We have inherited Peace, this is the meaning of "Bequeath", its not something we have earned, its ours because of our ancestry, we have it because it was Jesus' will to leave it with us.

The Oxford dictionary definition is:- leave (property) to a person or other beneficiary by a will

This truth can conquer any fear, anxiety, or depression because the truth is, these are all labels for threats which Father has told us come from evil forces as well as man.

Our emotions have the ability to entrap us because in reality, more often than not, they are not ours.

Our instinct must be to have faith in the peace that we have inherited and share anything that troubles us with Father God, then have faith (Trust and Believe).

Our God is good.

God bless you.
